Years of investigation, hundreds of leads and clues – and still no success: that is the bitter conclusion reached by the Bochum criminal investigation department, which has been trying to arrest the university phantom. The perpetrator has raped over 20 women. Could he still be brought to justice today?

The rules governing the statute of limitations for rape have been repeatedly extended in Germany in recent years to the benefit of victims – meaning that this first crime committed by the Bochum Phantom would not yet be time-barred today... a last chance for investigators to ensure that justice is served after all.
